"Colourful Music Notes" Practice Planner for ANY Piece (Beginner Violin)
**This version is blank to be customised for ANY piece for beginner violinists (generally those playing from beginner to approximately Suzuki Book 3/AMEB Grade 3 level). US AND UK Spelling both included**
This “Colourful Music Notes” Practice Planner will give you tools and skills to revolutionise your practice to make it more fun, intentional, colourful, efficient and rewarding. It’s designed to help musicians set goals and track progress in a measurable and tangible way. It’s digital and downloadable so you can immediately print it out and begin to transform your practice.
Do you or your students play through pieces without having a goal, which leads to making the same mistakes over and over and seemingly not getting anywhere with practice? By practising in Preview Spots (the more challenging bars) and Practice Boxes (sections of the piece) you will learn how to break a piece down in your practice, which is such a valuable skill. You can use this planner to track your progress, boost your productivity and know that you have improved during your practice time.
It’s so important to have a focus when you’re practising, rather than playing through pieces mindlessly just to get it done. By using colour, this planner uses a unique and original system to document this focus. For each repetition played with one particular focus you colour in the music note or symbol. You can choose whatever your focus should be, but by being intentional with your practice it will help you get to where you want to be. Each focus has a colour:
Red is about the bowing (bow strokes, articulation, direction, etc).
Orange is about the rhythm and keeping a steady beat
Yellow is Practice Inspiration
Dark Yellow are Practice Challenges
Bright Green is about the Shifting
Bright Blue is about the fingering (including finger patterns)
Dark Blue is about the dynamics
Purple is about the musicality and characterisation
Turquoise is about technique and posture
